Before & Beside provides educational content, guided document-preparation worksheets, and document-organization tools related to family healthcare planning. We are created and led by a registered nurse.

We are not a law firm, and nothing on this site, in any guide, worksheet, or generated document is legal advice. We are not a medical provider, and nothing here is medical advice or a substitute for consulting your doctor. Document requirements, witness rules, and notarization rules vary by state and can change; you’re responsible for confirming current requirements for your state and, where appropriate, consulting a licensed attorney.

• All products sold on this site are digital and delivered electronically (instant download, or in the case of the Nurse-Guided Package, an instantly generated personalized document).
• When you buy a guide or packet, you're purchasing a personal-use license to download, print, and fill it out for yourself and your family. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish our documents or templates.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We don't store your full payment card details.

If you purchase the Nurse-Guided Package, the guided intake questionnaire generates a personalized document from the answers you provide, directly in your browser. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. The generated document is educational and organizational in nature, not a legal instrument, and does not itself make your wishes legally binding — see our state signing guidance for what makes a document official where you live.

If you use the share-with-care-team feature, you are responsible for making sure the email addresses you enter belong to the people you intend to reach, and for anything you write in the accompanying note.

You agree not to:

• Use the site or our documents for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to interfere with the site's security or normal operation.
• Copy, resell, or redistribute our content, guides, or templates without permission.

All content on this site — guides, worksheets, copy, design, and branding — belongs to Before & Beside unless otherwise noted. Purchasing a product gives you a license to use it personally; it doesn’t transfer ownership of the content itself.

Before & Beside provides education and organizational tools. We are not liable for decisions made using our guides, for documents that are later found not to meet a particular state’s legal requirements, or for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
